Winsley-creator Marian saw a small handmade sheep ornament in her hometown and bought it for her Mom. A few years later she found the sheep in a dusty drawer, lonely and forgotten. She
stole it asked permission to rescue the sheep and take it back to Brooklyn.
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK
The sheep needed a name. After hours of list-making and indecision, Marian settled on Winsley, a variant of Wensleydale (a British cheese).
Winsley made his debut at an Easter brunch. At each place-setting there was a small card featuring the image “Winsley Celebrates Easter by Re-enacting the Ascent into Heaven” (seen at left). The guests were amused. The rest, as they say, is history.
Winsley has his very own gravy boat and a rich inner life. He hopes you enjoy his adventures.
